Our feature interview this week is with the Right Honorable Michael Gove, one of the leading conservative Ministers of Parliament in the UK. Gove was recently promoted to Shadow Secretary of State for Children Schools and Families. He’s the Founding Chairman of the conservative think tank Policy Exchange, writes regularly for The Times of London, and is the Former Editor of the Saturday Edition of The Times. He is a frequent panelist on BBC Radio’s The Moral Maze and Newsnight Review. In 2006 he won the Rising Star Award at the Channel 4 Political Awards. He is also the author of the controversial book Celsius 7/7: How the West’s Policy of Appeasement Has Provoked Yet More Fundamentalist Terror – And What Has to be Done Now. The title of course refers to the July 7th 2005 public transportation bombings in London. Along with Melanie Phillips, author of Londonistan, Michael Gove is described as one of England’s few intellectuals trying to raise awareness of the threat to Britain from Islamic extremism.
In this interview, we talk about the British government’s reaction to the 7/7 attacks, the Cartoon Jihad of ‘06, and the changing face of the modern Left.
