“Sex Crimes and the Vatican” is possibly the creepiest psychodrama horror movie I’ve ever seen. Yet it’s a BBC documentary, not fiction.

I love God, but just wanna be sick about organized religion after seeing this.
And never forget, Jesus was put to death specifically for challenging organized religion.

“This BBC documentary explores the idea that Pope Benedict XVI, also known as Cardinal Ratzinger, may have played a leading role in a systematic cover-up of child sex abuse by Roman Catholic priests.
“In 2001, while he was a cardinal, he allegedly issued a secret Vatican edict to Catholic bishops worldwide. The document recommended that rather than reporting sexual abuse to the relevant legal authorities, bishops should encourage the victim, the witnesses and the perpetrator not to talk about the abuse. Was this done to help the victims and minimize future abuses or was it done in the self interest of those responsible for these grievous sins.”

Frightening. Most frightening is that in the midst of this clown’s “blessed” visit here none of this was brought up by the “mainstream” punditocracy.
All the talking heads rhapsodized about the beatific countenance of Pope Joe. Utterly shameless.

ye right, BBC is the THRUTH man!!
Archbishop Nichols, the chairman of the Catholic office for the protection of children and vulnerable adults, described the evil of child abuse depicted in the documentary as “horrific and deeply distressing”.
But he said that the thrust of the programme was “false and entirely misleading” because it misrepresented two Vatican documents.
“The first document, issued in 1962, is not directly concerned with child abuse at all but with the misuse of the confessional,” he said.
“The programme confuses the misuse of the confessional and the immoral attempts by a priest to silence his victim.
“The second document, issued in 2001, clarified the law of the Church, ensuring that the Vatican is informed of every case of child abuse and that each case is dealt with properly.”
He continued: “This document does not hinder the investigation by civil authorities of allegations of child abuse, nor is it a method of cover-up, as the programme persistently claims. In fact it is a measure of the seriousness with which the Vatican views these offences.”

I guess, transferring a known pedophile to another parish must display the great measure of concern and seriousness with which the Vatican views child abuse. Their laws are clearly directed towards protecting the reputation of the church and silencing the victim.
